Dr. Kwan graduated from University of Sydney in 2009 and has since been working as a small animal veterinarian in Sydney. Dr. Kwan was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. At the beginning of his vet journey, he pursued a Bachelor of Animal Science in Korea before eventually graduating from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Science (Veterinary) (Hons) and Bachelor of Veterinary Science. While he was in university, he completed his thesis in the field of parasitology which he went on to publish. Instead of continuing on the path of research, he started at a small animal practice in Western Sydney area where he stayed about 4 years. He later joined the Animal Welfare League as a shelter vet where he refined his medicine and surgery skills. Before joining the Sutherland Vet family, he also locumed at a number of different small animal practices. He enjoys all aspects of veterinary practice, but is especially passionate about advanced soft tissue surgeries, complicated dermatological cases, and small animal acupuncture. A family man, whenever Kwan has some downtime, he spends it with his family and their precious furbaby Dory.
